Are you a chocolate-elsker (lover)? Than you will definitely fall in love with this northern-inspired recipe for hot chocolate. It is not only dairy-free but also sugar-free, which makes drinking this cup of delight completely guilt-free! Perfect to make on a cold winter day – and especially at upcoming Valentine’s Day. Let’s get started!
The ingredients (serves 1)
– A cup of rice milk
– Two royal tea spoons of raw cacao powder (e.g. the brand “It’s amazing”)
– A tea spoon of agave (e.g. the brand “Urtekram”)
– A pinch of cinnamon
Optional
– Chocolate-covered almonds to serve with the drink (e.g. the brand “Søstrene Grene”)
It is super easy.
Pour the cup of almond or rice milk into a small cooking pot. Heat the milk on a soft fire, don’t let it boil! When the milk is heathened you can add the raw cocoa powder. Stir the milk slowly with a spoon until the milk and the cocoa powder are turned into one, dark brown substance. Add the cinnamon en stir it just a few times more.
Now, the chocolate milk is ready to be poured into a cup or a jar. When the chocolate milk is slightly cooled off you can add the agave. One tea spoon is perfect to me, although you can add more or less – or not any – to your own taste.
Serve the hot chocolate with some “in raw chocolate-covered” almonds to make it even more delicious.
ENJOY your Valentine’s!
